London - Stonehenge - Glastonbury (the town)

Hey folks,

Right now I'm in a farmhouse in the town of Glastonbury (the festival actually takes place nearby in Plimpton?). Staring out the window I see St. Michael's Tower.

There's a good deal of King Arthur and Camelot history a stone's throw away. It's quite something...

Last night we played London in the basement of a church. The show went quite well despite a tube almost lighting on fire towards the 3rd to last song in the set. Thankfully, the generous Nick Gravenhurst was on hand to help swap an amp and we closed the set in fine fashion. Nick has been joining us on stage for the last 2 songs, Revolutions & Nothing in This Name, on guitar. His tasty delayed melodic lines have been indispensable to the full sound of our big finale. Unfortunately, it was dispensed with last night b/c he had no amp. But still...we've had a wonderful time travelling with him and he's been endlessly helpful (i blew up an adaptor in Derby...he ran out and got batteries...he's an endless source of information on serial killers and major labels).

We're looking forward to having him back on stage at Glastonbury and the other remaining shows.

So, after London's triumphant display we had to drive straight through the Glastonbury festival where we'll be sleeping for the next 2 nights. We pulled into our manager Michelle's home town nearby and were each dropped off at separate locations. I slept alone in a farmhouse and have yet to see a soul other than the landscape guy. Dave and Jeff are a few miles away at a B&B with some friends of Michelle who own 100,000 vinyl LPs.

Last night's drive was quite foggy for most of the way, making for a dangerous and disorienting trip. But we also happened upon Stonehenge around 4am, with fog and a dim red glow lighting its silhoutte. We'll go visit it properly in the day time but its was quite the site.

I awoke in this farmhouse and have yet to see another human other than the landscaper. Just birds chirping and the ghosts of Camelot.

Tonight we play in Bath which should be a blast.

What's new with you?
